Someday
Jesus replied, "You don't understand now what I am doing, but someday you will."
John 3:17
John 3:17
We understand what we understand. But that isn't all there is. It's hard to think beyond our understanding because well, we can't see it. We just trust that God is always working, even even when we can't see.
The church is the body of Christ. He is not here in body, so we act as his body. Therefore, though the ways God works are many and mysterious, He sometimes works through us.
So...He's working through me, sometimes in a way that I don't understand, toward a purpose I may or may not understand. That's not usually how I like to roll. For me anyway, it requires lots of prayer, trust and focus to walk and work, with Him. It also takes patience with myself, to take one step at a time and not expect a nice completed project with a big checkmark beside it; just take the step he calls me to take and rest in that obedience. To allow him to work through me, requires me to set aside my feelings of fear or judgment, my questions, my desire to insert my own reaction, opinion or needs, and just be his vessel. I must let go of my own pretense or self-importance or sometimes even the understanding that I think I have, and trust him. All glory to the One who is sovereign, who knows all things, who allows me to be a conduit for his work.
Love others. Trust Him.
I may not know what he is doing now, but someday, I will. I may not understand the reason for the season I'm in, but someday, I will. Because of Christ, that is enough.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
